EVELYN SANDEEN, PHD, ABPP, received her BA from the University of Notre Dame
and her PhD in clinical psychology from Stony Brook University (previously SUNY Stony
Brook) and is board-certified in clinical psychology. She served as a Training Director
for doctoral psychology internships and postdoctoral fellowships in the VA system and
now has a psychotherapy and consultation practice in Albuquerque
(www.evelynsandeen.com). Evelyn has published in the areas of case
conceptualization, cultural competence, and clinical supervision. Clinically, she has
extensive experience with psychological trauma, substance-use disorders, personality
disorders, and anxiety disorders.
Evelyn has a psychotherapy practice in which she specializes in working with high-
functioning adults who have experienced difficult childhoods or other challenges. See

She has a drop-in consultation group every Tuesday from noon-1:00 which is open to
any independently licensed behavioral health professional. The cost of this group is
$25 a session. Register for this group by 5:00pm the day before by emailing her at

new to the group. Evelyn can provide behavioral health trainings for your clinic or
organization or offer professional consultation on an individual or clinic-based level.

Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Northern New Mexico currently practicing in the metro area. Michelle graduated with her MSSW from the University of Texas with a clinical concentration. She has worked in myriad settings as a social worker including outpatient, primary care, inpatient psychiatry, residential, and medical sites. Michelle utilizes a holistic approach in her practice and is particularly interested and versed in Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Somatic Techniques. She is passionate about behavioral health clinicians feeling supported, prepared and informed when entering in to their practice. This passion was the catalyst in the co-creation of New Mexico Behavioral Health Training Associates with her mentor and co-founder Dr. Evelyn Sandeen.
