About the course
Learning Objectives By the end of this workshop, learners will be able to: 1. Identify at least two examples that distinguish healthy therapeutic boundaries from boundary violations. 2. Demonstrate at least two strategies for self-disclosure, emotional engagement, and role clarity that prioritize client healing 3. Explain ethical and therapeutic rationale for the therapist’s unique role as an unbiased, structured participant rather than a friend. 4. Develop a plan for applying informed consent, and ethical decision-making to complex clinical situations, including dual relationships.

Meet Your Instructor
Michelle Ball is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who grew up in rural Northern New Mexico and is currently practicing in the Albuquerque area. She received her MSSW from the University of Texas with a clinical concentration. She has worked in a wide variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, residential, homeless programs, disability services and educational sites. Michelle has served as a case manager, therapist, coordinator and clinical supervisor. She is passionate about supporting mental health professionals in building practical skills to enhance their effectiveness, confidence and expertise in providing quality care to New Mexicans.
