Learning Objectives By the end of this presentation, learners will be able to: 1. Apply ethical principles from counseling, social work, and psychology codes of ethics to clinical decision-making related to offering and adapting Evidence- Based Practices 2. Describe current research on treatment effectiveness for common presenting problems and use a collaborative assessment framework to guide treatment planning with clients 3. Integrate client culture, beliefs, values, and preferences into the ethical delivery of evidence-based therapies 4. Identify common therapist- and client-level barriers to implementing EBPs and utilize ethics-driven strategies to address them in general practice

Meet Your Instructor

A native New Mexican, Marita Campos-Melady, PhD, MBA is a clinical psychologist committed to expanding access to high-quality behavioral healthcare in her community. She has extensive experience in direct patient care and leadership roles across health systems and community clinics. Her clinical expertise includes eating disorders, substance use disorders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral treatments for conditions such as insomnia and chronic pain. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of New Mexico, an MBA in healthcare management, and is an approved supervisor with the New Mexico Counseling and Social Work Boards.
